A short video clip of our launch - enjoy
It was wonderful - cold rainy day - big roaring fire, beautiful company and an everlasting supply of steaming freshly roasted coffee.
Delicious food is always a must and a troop of family members doing what they do best is an added wonderful bonus.
Private invite to our farm and launch - (some special friends who we knew couldn't attend because of distance still received an invite, just because) - to check out our machine and risk a happy death in trying our blends and roasts.
Having a teen that jams gorgeous blues guitar is such a blessing.
Our wonderful preteen ran off her feet with a crew of her friends in tow, washing cups ready for the next tasting. She so enjoyed serving and being a part of the buzz.
Daddy Coffee showed everyone the roaster and did a roast demo. One of the enthusiastic kids pulled a tempting lever and released all of the beans onto the floor !! Luckily someone closed it quickly and the children picked up the beans as though they were treasures and proceeded to stuff them into their pockets.
It left the room smelling even more delicious so no one complained too much and Daddy coffee has a brood of his own kids so wasn't thrown into the deep end.
We did warn people not to drink the entire cup because they had a few to get through but some were enjoying it all too much to remember - Lots of happy buzzing.
the baristas were really wonderful - They were laughing and smiling and keeping up with the zillion coffees and changes and new tastes and questions. It really makes a difference when the crew that you have around you are positive and enthusiastic.
We let everyone know what our mission is - Sourcing organic and ethically farmed coffee is NUMBER 1 on our list - visiting farms in the near future is a dream that hopefully will come true and playing around with the rules of coffee, and learning stacks everyday makes life more interesting. (It already was mind you, but never say never to more stretching of oneself)
All in all - we had such a fulfilling and perfect afternoon and felt very honored that such beautiful people could share the beginning of this journey with us.
I've said it before and will say it again. NO ONE DIED in this experiment. (Some might never sleep again though) hahah
To top it off - They loved the coffee the next day as well - Family members who didn't attend sent messages that they were enjoying it. One always wonders what things will be like the next day without the vibe or great baristas. So happy to hear the positive feedback.
Now we are open for action - send us an email to order - info@deathbycoffee.net or if in Port Elizabeth you can order through Organicfootprints (we supply them with our organic veg as well and they deliver)
