We have found a need in our immediate community that we want to try and help with. We know that there are so many precious humans, who need love and care at the moment but also understand that people want to help but just don’t know where or how.
NOW WE ALL CAN AND IT WILL BE TOGETHER and is so desperately needed here.
Our hospitals are in a state. No bedding, no capacity for enough care or food for the patients. The poor doctors run off their feet.
This is where the fam are trying to help and we thought that we could do it with you.
So, for the month of July we are going to give 10% of every Death by Coffee bag that you buy from our online buying site, to help this cause.
Mamma coffee is helping to make sandwiches for the patients at the moment and there is a need for blankets. As the needs change, so we will adapt.
Here are one of the places where we will be supporting with you -
Be The Change NMB
“Be The Change NMB” started as a movement just over a week ago, as the need for collaboration among various organisations, NPO/NGOs and private relief initiatives into the overwhelmed Dora Nginza Hospital and other struggling public hospitals in Nelson Mandela Bay became very clear, says founder Monica Dawson.
“Many [relief] services were overlapping, thus thinning out the necessary resources, time and energy to effectively address the medical state of emergency we find ourselves in,” she says.
“The goal of Be The Change NMB is unity amongst all collaborating organisations, private citizens, concerned churches, faiths and “races” that will hopefully extend past the reaches of Covid-19 to other collaborations into the future. We need to address this pandemic head-on as one if we are to overcome. It is going to take each and every one of us working in collaboration, as a unified team to stem this haemorrhage.
“Be The Change NMB aims to spread the GOOD NEWS that South Africa (and specifically Nelson Mandela Bay) is NOT broken beyond repair, even though many of her pillars have been exposed to be crumbling at this point in time. We have beautiful people who do Ubuntu and serve with LOVE well. There can and will be many good news stories to bring testimony to Jesus’ goodness and mercy from this time.
How we respond now determines how/what history is written,” says, urging local people to rise up and be the change.
